The purpose of the association “IG Neue Markthalle Bern” is to establish a market hall of pioneer character in Switzerland. We want to combine different offers – such as a vegetable and fruit market, with fresh meats and fish, alongside innovative catering concepts and space for corporate events, parties and concerts. In addition, it should offer a co-working space for small businesses and provide child care – all under one roof.

Neue Markthalle Bern thereby tries to live up to its name by providing a marketplace which includes a variety of facets. By including a social component to create the ideal meeting spot, it feeds into a contemporary trend – precisely for the reason that in a time when meetings and consumption in the digital space are minimizing face to face moments, people seem to wish for more direct contact with one another. A live market adheres to the need of the customer for a clear offer, which is in turn offereddirectly by the supplier.

Errm, IG what exactly?

The “IG Neue Markthalle Bern” is an association that was founded in the summer of 2018 for the purpose of bringing together a bunch of innovative and committed people who are working towards thesame idea. This includes people from a wide range of disciplines, from the world of innovation to gastronomy professionals to finance experts. Since August 2018, we meet regularly for workshops andboard meetings, where topics are continuously developed, so that we are getting closer and closer to the implementation of our idea.

Entrepreneurs in a new market hall support each other. Likewise, consulting is integrated in order to support and supply startups with expertise.

Fresh market

The fresh market of the Neue Markthalle Bern is one of the mobile, non-fixed sketches of our overall vision. You can find regional products from all corners of Switzerland and Europe.

Gastronomic offer

Diversity and quality are at the core of our vision. Different and innovative culinary styles will be found here under one roof.

Marketplace

Various businesses shall contribute to the customer experience in the Neue Markthalle Bern. From the carpenter to the painter, from the art studio to the marketing and event office to regional and foreign products, everything is here to be found.

Events & concerts

The catering business, the bar or small businesses are there to enrich events with the Neue Markthalle Bern. In addition, larger events are planned, be it with concerts, but also parties that last into the morning hours.

Co-Working & Innovation Lab

A co-working space and an innovation lab round off the proposal of the Neue Markthalle Bern, so that on site work, surrounded by an appealing world of experiences, becomes attractive. This modern workplace can and should accommodate new and unconventional concepts.
